The 2022 Affirmation Series is Live!

Happy Sunday, ya'll! I'm so excited to share with you my latest body of work--my affirmation series.

These abstract paintings were inspired by the energy of the new year as well as my own personal development right now. At the end of last year, I was introduced to Ayurveda, which is a "natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 3,000 years ago." I had kept hearing about Ayurveda in the most random of places and finally decided to look into it. As I did my research on it, I was really struck by the concept of ama (toxins) vs agni (digestive fire) and how this extends beyond the food we eat.

Over the holiday break, I decreased some of the "ama" in my life by taking a break from social media and changing the music that I listened to and migrating to more instrumental or uplifting songs. In a short period of time, I felt more relaxed, energized, and more grounded. I felt like a veil had lifted (cliche, I know). Since then, I've continued to curate the music that I listen to and the things that I watch and read. I honestly can't believe how such small changes have made such a difference.

Now you're probably wondering what this has to do with my series, right!? As I was going through this experience, I thought it would be fun to create a series that centered around inspiration, positive vibes, and empowerment. I really wanted to create something that would help us change the narrative about what we tell ourselves. In other words, I wanted to paint something that help stoke our "agni".

In creating this series, I chose more abstract work that felt free and colorful. I wanted the viewer to feel dreamy and hopeful, exploring the potential of their lives. I also chose some images, such as butterflies, that signify transformation.

The exciting part about this body of work is that some of the pieces are customizable. It's the first time I've done this, but I'm excited to see how the artist and the viewer can work together in this project. For select pieces, you can add your own saying, quote, affirmation, or whatever. I really am eager to see how they make you feel and how you translate them into your own experience.

Other tidbits about the series:

- All pieces are 12"x12".

- They all come in a black frame.

- They all feature acrylic and most feature collage.

Check them out now! I don't expect them to last long!
